Stephen Mulhern and Johnathon Wilkes to debut new on-board show this summer
TV presenter Stephen Mulhern and performer Johnathon Wilkes are to premiere Astonishing, a brand-new magic and illusion show onboard three P&O Cruises ships this summer.
Promising to be a “real visionary and immersive treat”, it’s set to bring the vibrant worlds of magic, dance, illusion and mystery together in the large theatres of the Britannia, Azura and Ventura.
Master illusionist Guy Barnett is also set to feature heavily in the show which is being worked on by a huge range of talent including celebrated choreographer Paul Domaine, who’s previously worked with big-name stars like Kylie Minogue and Elton John.
"Astonishing is a show like no other and I get goosebumps just thinking about it. Producing this show with Jonny is the culmination of a dream for me,” said Mulhern.
“I obviously don’t want to give anything away so all I will say is that it does exactly what it says on the tin and the audience should be prepared to be amazed.”
One of the youngest ever members of the magician’s circle, Mulhern has been a regular fixture on ITV for a number of years presenting the revival of popular gameshow Catchphrase and Big Star’s Little Star.
Wilkes is well-known pantomime star having performed annually at Stoke's Regent Theatre for the last 12 years. He's also responsible for creating and organising charity football match Soccer Aid with his friend Robbie Williams.
