P&O's Aurora to become adult-only ship

The Aurora is being converted into an adult-only cruise ship after “extensive research and guest feedback”, P&O has announced.

The mid-sized 1,874-passenger vessel will undergo a significant refit at the start of March 2019 before returning to service on 9th April.

From that date, nobody under the age of 18 will be permitted to travel on-board.

Parties with children who’ve previously booked to sail on the Aurora are being offered the opportunity to rebook their holiday on one of P&O’s four family-friendly ships, Azura, Oceana, Britannia or Ventura.

Those who’d like to cancel will instead receive a full refund along with a future credit of 5% of the total value of their cruise.

“P&O Cruises is all about choice, whether our guests want the fantastic range of activities and children’s clubs on our family-friendly ships or prefer the peace and serenity of our adult-only ships,” said Senior Vice President Paul Ludlow.

“With Aurora becoming a ship exclusively for adults, we are offering our guests even more choice which means they can choose the holiday experience that is absolutely the right one for them.”
