New details of P&O ship's refurbishment revealed
P&O Cruises has released new details regarding the upcoming multi-million-pound refurbishment of its passenger ship Oceana.
The 2,018-capacity vessel is due to enter into dry dock in Southampton at the end of November in order to undergo a complete ship-wide refit.
All of its luxurious passenger suites will all be fitted out with brand-new carpets and a variety of brand-new furniture including stylish curtains, cushions and lamps.
Both the Plaza Buffet and the Winner’s Bar are also set to be re-carpeted while the former will receive newly-designed chairs and banquette seating as well as shiny new draft lager taps.
Out on the Terrace Bar, the flooring will be re-tiled, a new canopy built to extend out over the pool and all of the hot tubs refurbished to feel like new.
The wall coverings, blinds and flooring decorating the Oceana’s Spa and Gym will all be updated so you’ll be able to enjoy relaxing and working on improving yourself in a much nicer space.
Younger passengers will be delighted at all of the brand-new soft-play equipment which is due to be installed within the ship’s newly re-decorated children’s area while a better selection of entertainment equipment is sure to keep teenagers of all ages happy.
Another P&O Cruise ship Arcadia underwent a similar renovation earlier this month to the cost of around £34 million.
The Oceana’s refit is expected to be completed by December 17th 2017 when it will depart from Southampton on a 12-night Canary Islands and Portugal round cruise.
